golden girl...
I started my day in a grumpy-ass mood. First, Sophie wouldn't let me sleep. I went as far as to close her out of the bedroom - something I rarely do - but even then she just cried out in the living room. All because she didn't like her food. Feh...I know the low-protein diet food is not so than tasty, but I can only dress it up with so much of the junk food before we're defeating the purpose. Either way, she really seems to complain the loudest at 6 a.m. Go figure.
Then, my morning was filled with a series of mishaps including some spilled coffee, but now the day has started to balance out in my favor. I think the closer the clock gets to 5, the happier I'm becoming.
It's going to be a busy weekend as usual. On the docket:
- Several must-finish-now projects
- Saturday night show
- Sunday brunch
- One million errands
- Housewarming party
- Sunday night show
At some point during the weekend, I'd like to find some time to read, garden and clean. Really, a successful weekend would be four days long, not a measly two. Or at least three. I'd settle for three.
Cory & I were going to try and make a State Fair run as we've yet to hit up together this year, but we've now decided to wait until mid-week because it will be a) less crowded (theoretically) and B) we can go by ourselves and make it something of a date night - because nothing says "date" like a trip to the photobooth, some baby pigs and greasy fair snacks.
Whatever else I do this weekend, however, I'm going to kick it off with a post-work run. I really need to burn off the stress of the week and there's nothing quite as good as a late afternoon Friday run, accompanied by a raucous iPod mix, to do the trick. Follow it with a beer, and you're golden.
