Is nobody else going to speak out about how tacky Julia Roberts has become? This Miss Popularity schtick has obviously gone to her pretty little head.
I was dismayed by her behavior at the Oscars. First there was that whole "I Kissed Sydney Poitier" thing and then when Denzel Washington left the stage after accepting his Oscar she was practically glued to him. The poor guy could hardly move the way Julia had globbed onto him like a blubbering alien life form.
Tacky, tacky tacky.
That said, I enjoyed this Salon pieceBlack America and the Oscars .
Billy Wilder RIP...I think I'm going to watch "Some Like it Hot" tonight.

"Will Weblogs Ruin Google's Search Engine?" (from Slate)
really don't think this is something to be worried about. - I dout that somebody doing a serious search is going to be deterred by a few frivolous results.

This week the NY Times Magazine (one of the best magazines in the country - well worth the seemingly exorbitant price I'm paying to have the Times delivered on Saturdays and Sundays) focuses on the state of music. There's a cover story on pop wizard Moby plus a cool essay on "outsider music" that touches on one of the woefully underrated Daniel Johnston. Also: a really good and enlightening interview with the Breeders (yes Virginia, there *is* a new album coming out soon), a piece on the future of music plus a few other articles I've yet to read.
Check it out here

And, on that note, I finally downloaded Morpheus yesterday. Didn't actually download any music but hopefully I'll find something worthy soon

Do you think I really care if Britney and Justin broke up? However, I do want to know if this story is true.
